Lateral Wall Station

SBCRI’s Lateral Wall Station is based on years of braced wall panel testing conducted at the facility. This extensive experience enables SBCRI to simulate both 2D and 3D testing on wall panels ranging from 4’ to 23’ long and up to 10’ high. Lateral load testing can be conducted with and without gravitational loads, and loading conditions can be applied either monotonic or cyclic.

Testing can be done on this station under the following standards:

  • ASTM E72 – Standard Test Methods of Conducting Strength Tests of Panels for Building Construction
  • ASTM E455 – Standard Test Method for Static Load Testing of Framed Floor or Roof Diaphragm Construction for Buildings
  • ASTM E564 – Standard Practice for Static Load Test for Shear Resistance of Framed Walls for Buildings
  • ASTM E935 – Standard Test Methods for Performance of Permanent Metal Railing Systems and Rails in Buildings
  • ASTM E2126 – Standard Test Methods for Cyclic (Reversed) Load Test for Shear Resistance of Vertical Elements of the Lateral Force Resisting System for Buildings
  • ASTM E2127 – Standard Test Methods for Static Load Test for Combined Tensile and Transverse Load Resistance of Paneled Wall Systems in Building Construction
